The Fiji Council of Social Services Micro Finance Unit is undertaking a project to help 350 people become self employed.
While accepting a cheque of $55,700 from the Vodafone ATH Foundation, Micro Finance Unit Manager, Lavenia Baro said they aim to improve the living standard of people and alleviate poverty.
Meanwhile, Vodafone ATH Foundation Chairman Micheal Standley said this project will help those facing hardship, to secure a future for them.
The Micro Finance Unit is also working on projects involving the squatter settlement in urban areas and aiming to assist those between the age of 13 to 45 years.
