FASANOC has received another $300,000 from the government to assist Team Fiji for the Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea next month.
This takes the total government contribution to Team Fiji from the Fiji Sports Commission to $600,000.
FASANOC president Joe Rodan has welcomed the assistance from the government and says they have submitted a justification for an increase in funding allocated to them.
Rodan says they have a $2.1 million budget and they still need $120,000.
Rodan adds that they will continue to conduct fundraising and public appeals to achieve their target.
However he says they will give their best shot in PNG.
FASANOC announced yesterday that the Volleyball men’s and women’s teams will not participate in the games after they failed to pay their levies.
The Pacific Games will be held from the 4th to the 18th of next month in PNG.
