The Court of Arbitration of Sports has dismissed the case taken up by FASANOC against the Commonwealth Games Federation, seeking the right for Fiji to participate at the Commonwealth Games in October this year.

This was the last option that FASANOC had in-terms of securing a chance to take part in the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

FASANOC President Vidhya Lankan had earlier stated in an interview that they were appealing the decision for dismissing Fiji from the Commonwealth Games saying that Sports and Politics are two separate issues and thus the Fiji athletes had a right to take part.

However, the Court of Arbitration said it will stick with the earlier decision made by the Commonwealth's Ministerial Action Group (CMAG) to fully suspend Fiji's membership of the Commonwealth.

Lakhan is currently out of the country and will comment later on the issue.
