FASANOC has today cleared the air that the International Olympic Committee has special invites for the President and the General Secretary of FASANOC to be present at the 2008 Beijing Olympics that will be officially opened on Friday.
When questioned on whether FASANOC was paying for the General Secretary, Atma Maharaj and his wife's expenses, Lakhan stressed that their Bills were being paid by the International Olympic Committee, as an incentive of the position Maharaj held.
FASANOC also said that the IOC is not responsible for paying all the bills for athletes and officials travelling for the Olympics.
Lakhan said the IOC gives Funds to the Association for the overall administration of all sporting Organisations.
Meanwhile, the Interim Government and FASANOC will now be responsible to settle the balance of Athletics and Weightlifting arrears, and the FASANOC Headquarters Team at the Games, with the respective coaches, will take on the responsibility of looking after the athletes from these two sports.
Lakhan said it was the Board's decision to drop the two officials after they failed to meet any of the payment schedules.
