Extra buses to provide services in Cunningham
Bus Company, Citiline Transport has decided to provide extra buses from today after close to 30 school students had to find other means to reach school yesterday morning, after the bus driver stopped them from boarding the bus.
A concerned parent told Fijivillage News that the Citiline Bus driver told the students that they could not get in the bus after which the students had to catch other buses and taxis to reach school.
Meanwhile, Citiline Transport owner, Vimal Chand said that they have had talks with the Land Transport Authority and will provide extra buses soon after 8am so that all students reach school on time.
Chand said that the students were not picked yesterday morning as the bus was already full and drivers did not want to get booked by police for carrying extra students.
He said that all of a sudden more and more students have starting travelling by bus after getting the coupons from the Education Ministry which is why they had the problem yesterday.
He said parents should contact the bus company to clarify the matter before taking the matter elsewhere.
