The Fiji Taxi Union is now asking the Interim Minister for Transport to reconsider the date for all taxi metres to be fixed to the new taxi fare flag fall.
General Secretary Rishi Ram said the only two taxi metre converters will not be able to cater for their members throughout the country.
Ram said they have put in a submission to set another date.
Ram added that after a meeting with his lawyers, he has been advised that it would be fruitless to pursue the course of taking legal action against the directive issued by the interim government and LTA to reduce the flag fall rate of taxi fares from $1.50 to $1 from 6am to 10pm and $2 to $1.50 from 10pm to 6am.
