Exposure Keeps Saint Bedes Going
Speaking to Fijivillage, Coach Sairusi Delai said while the school had to pay for their fare to Viti Levu, which still has to be reimbursed by the Fiji Secondary School Rugby Association, each player in the 25 member team has had to pay another $40 dollars from their own pocket for their meal allowance, since they arrived in Suva last Thursday.
Delai said for the Saint Bedes team the FSSRA has booked the John Wesley College for the students to continue their studies but the real difficulty is providing them with food three times a day.
He added his boys has to stay in a boxing training gym at Jittu Estate because they cannot afford to pay their accommodation in Suva, but Delai said with this hardship his boys are raring to win a place in the Tier 2 U-18 final.
Saint Bedes will take on Lami High School in the U-18 semifinal on Friday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
Tier 2 semifinal from the U-15 grades between Saint Thomas and Sigatoka Methodist will kick-off at 8am.
