Exports to the US, New Zealand, Samoa and Vanuatu increased in June this year according to the latest figures released by the Bureau of Statistics.

It has been revealed that exports to the US increased by 7.7 million dollars to 20.2 million due to increased exports of mineral water, and increased exports of long finned tuna, garments, steel containers for gas and motor boat to New Zealand are up to 5.6 million dollars.

Exports to Samoa are up due to an increase in export of uncooked pasta and Portland cement while increased exports of powdered milk, flour, cakes and biscuits has seen the rise in export dollars from Vanuatu.

Meanwhile exports are down to Australia by 0.2 million dollars to 12.3 million due to decreased exports of fresh pawpaw and sweet biscuits.

According to the provisional data on the overseas merchandise trade statistics, imports decreased by 13 million dollars, domestic exports increased by 11.4 million dollars and re-exports increased by 9.3 million for June 2007 compared to the corresponding period last year.
