Last night marked a milestone for exporters in the country with the launch of the newly named Fiji Exporters Council and the Duty Suspension scheme.
Interim Minister for Industry Trade and Communication, Tom Rickets highlighted that the Duty suspension scheme will replace the Tax Free factory licences which are currently held by many exporters.
Fiji Indigenous Business Council Member on the Fiji Export Council Joe Taoi said the name change and the mandate to implement the Duty Suspension Scheme is a step towards finding a solution to the current trade imbalance.
The Fiji Exporters Council, formally known as the Exporters Club also launched its new website last night which would provide exporters and investors with all relevant information.
