Flying Fijian coaching staffs have opted for some changes in the team to play against Japan in the opening game of the Pacific Nation Cup on Saturday.

Coach Samu Domoni Junior is working closely with Joe Barakat to make changes at the hooker, halfback and fly half position which came under a lot of pressure in the game against the Wallabies.

Domoni is likely to use Nikola Matawalu to start at halfback ahead of Emosi Vucago while Jonetani Ralulu will come in as replacement for the injured Wise Luveniyali.

At hooker Taupati Talemaitoga and Viliame Veikoso are contesting on who will start on Saturday.

Talemaitoga had an off day with his throwing on Saturday night which gave the Wallabies a lot of possession throughout the game.

Manager Semi Rogoyawa said they are still waiting for the arrival of overseas based Napolioni Nalaga, Sisa Koyamaibole and Sireli Naqelevuki.

The trio is expected to arrive into the country later today.

The Fiji and Japan game will kick off on Saturday at 3pm at Churchill Park and you can catch the live commentary of the match on our sister station Viti FM.
