Police in Sigatoka are searching for a man who is alleged to have raped a 36 year old expatriate's wife over the weekend at Natadola Beach.

Police spokesperson Operations, Atu Sokomuri confirmed that a report was lodged with the Sigatoka Police last Sunday.

According to police, the victim went for a walk along the beach when she was approached by the suspect. She sustained a few injuries after a struggle with the suspect, who managed to escape.

Investigations are still continuing at the moment.

Meanwhile, Police are also questioning a villager of Seaqaqa for allegedly raping his 15 year old niece earlier this week.

The victim who is a Form 4 student was staying with her uncle and aunt to attend school, when the uncle allegedly committed the offence.

It is alleged the girl's aunt sent her to collect the hymn book from the uncle's room and when the girl was inside looking for the hymn book, the uncle allegedly raped her.

The girl claims that the uncle also threatened to kill her.

The matter was reported to police by the victim's father.
