As part of the government's land reform agenda, land which was set aside for non ex-ALTA tenants in Seaqaqa and Dreketi will now be rented out to those interested in acquiring the land for farming purposes.
Primary Industries Minister Joketani Cokanasiga said the two estates in Vunicibicibi and Navudi were bought by government to re-settle the ex-ALTA tenants on Vanua Levu whose leases were not renewed.
However, the objective was not achieved and they will now rent out the land.
Cokanasiga said there is already interest from people wanting to start farming and the move will also rake in revenue for the State and provide much needed land for people to improve their lives.
