Former Lelean Memorial School Under 19 rugby flanker Sakiusa Nadruku believes everything happens for a reason and that is why he will be featuring for Fiji in the Gold Coast 7s this weekend.

The 22-year-old from Laselase village in Nadroga who won the Deans trophy for Lelean with Metuisela Talebula in 2009 said this is a chance for him to secure an overseas contract.

Nadruku has maternal links to Namatakula village and he is also the nephew of former dual international Noa Nadruku.

He played for Namosi in this year’s Digicel Cup where they reached the semifinals.

Nadruku will play in the Gold Coast 7s which kicks off at 12.30pm Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Fiji 7s team left last night and will play its first match against Canada at 1.58pm Saturday.

Fiji’s second match is against Portugal at 5.14pm and the last pool match will be against Wales at 9.24pm.

The Cup quarterfinals start at 1.58pm on Sunday, Cup semis kicks off at 5.58pm and the Cup final will be played at 9.04pm.
