The Electoral Commission will ensure that every voter gets the right to vote in the next general elections.
Chairman, M.R.Khan said many voters were turned away from polling stations as their names did not appear in the electoral roll and they were denied the right to vote in the 2006 elections.
He added that before the next elections, voters will be given ample time to go through the rolls.
The Electoral Commission stresses they do not have any timetable for general elections to be held in March next year. Khan said the Boundaries Commission and the Bureau of Statistics have not compiled their necessary reports to hold early general elections freely and fairly.
He said the Electoral Commission is an independent body and no institution can interfere in its work, not even the Interim PM.
