Every child in the care of a teacher needs to feel safe.
Fiji Teachers Union general secretary Agni Deo Singh has made this comment after a few issues were raised during their 80th Annual General Meeting.
Singh said cases of child abuse and corporal punishment inflicted by certain officers in the school was raised in the meeting.
He has called on the teachers to behave in a manner that fits their profession.
A number of resolutions were also passed during the meeting.
