Winning NRL Sydney Roosters and Vodafone Fiji Bati prop Kane Evans is honored to play alongside his biggest fan Petero Civoniceva in the Rugby League world cup.

Civoniceva ranked Evans as one of the top five young props in the NRL this year.

21-year-old Evans played for the Roosters this season but did not feature in their grand final win against Manly two weeks ago.

The big prop was a standout in the 2012 Junior State of Origin match for New South Wales and also scored a try.

Evans said being a Bati is not just about football.

Kane’s mother Jennet hails from Vanuabalavu in Lau and his grandmother is from Nabitu, Tokatoka, in Tailevu.

Kane’s mom Jennet said her son always wanted to be the best.

Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth, the actor playing Thor also wished all the participating teams well.

The Vodafone Fiji Bati is pooled with Australia, Ireland and England and they will face Ireland at 7am next Tuesday.

England plays Australia in the first game at 1.30am Sunday.
