The evacuees from around Nadroga/Navosa areas have started to move to the alternative places provided by the DISMAC office.
District Officer Sigatoka, Kaliova Bainivalu confirms that most of the people have been advised by the village headman to move to the village community hall.
Bainivalu also said people whose farms were affected by the flood will be assisted with rations for the next few weeks until work is normalised.
People still occupying Sigatoka District School, Sigatoka Mission, Nawamagi church, Andhra Secondary school, Nukoro District School. However Bainivalu said the schools should be vacated before Friday and be ready for next Tuesday when school kicks off.
