The proposed establishment of the ethanol industry in Fiji will help reduce Fiji's $1.7 billion annual fuel bill and bring about economic fertility in the country.
Those were the words of Fiji's Ambassador to China Sir James Ah Koy as he revealed that the Chinese company Guanxi State Farms has been chosen to enter into a joint venture with a government subsidiary company to establish ethanol plants in Fiji.
Sir James said they are confident that ethanol will bring about major improvement to the economy as everyone will be able to benefit. He also said that it can become a major competitor to the ailing sugar industry.
