It is estimated that an average of 2 teachers retire every day after reaching the retirement age of 55 years.
Fijian Teachers Association General Secretary Maika Namudu said while they do not have the exact figures, more and more qualified teachers are leaving the public education sector in Fiji.
Namudu added that they are aware that many retiring teachers are trying to pursue their careers overseas.
