The Suva Rugby Union Escott Shield Competition kicks off today at Albert Park with a march through Suva City.

Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama will be the chief guest at the event and this year’s competition promises to be an exciting one with Nadroga taking on Suva in a first ever Champion vs Champion match to open the competition.

Suva comes into this match with many of their experienced players like Manasa Saulo, Ilitomasi Nawalu, Kaminieli Neiqisa and Isikeli Vuruna while Nadroga, who has many new faces, will rely on former Flying Fijian Asaeli Boko to guide the team.

Suva takes on Nadroga at 3.30 this afternoon.
