Four escapees have now been confirmed captured by Police around 6.30pm yesterday.

Dozens of plain and uniformed police officers were in the area of Draunibota Bay commonly referred to as Bay of Islands opposite Novotel Lami where Fijivillage was on scene.

Acting Chief of Operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu said the four prisoners were captured at Uduya point Lami.

According to Tudravu, the additional suspects in custody tipped police off where the escapees were hiding.

The lone escapee still on the run is 30 year old Isoa Waqa who was serving eight years for robbery with violence.

The four prisoners who have been captured are 28 year old Solomoni Qurai who was serving a life sentence for burglary and murder, 29 year old Tevita Sugu who was serving a 13 year sentence for aggravated robbery, 25 year old Josaia Usumaki who was serving a 26 year sentence for robbery with violence and related offences, and 30 year old Epeli Qaraniqio who was serving 8 years for robbery with violence.

These prisoners escaped from the Naboro Medium Facility on Monday night.

People are reminded that harboring an escapee is a crime and they can face a prison term of two years or a fine of $5,000.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the five escapees is encouraged to call Police or the Corrections Command Center on 3100 107.
