Two prisoners who escaped from Natabua Prison in Lautoka this morning were apprehended earlier this afternoon with two women up in the Nausori Highlands.
Police Chief of Investigations and Intelligence ACP Henry Brown has thanked the villagers of Bukuya for assisting in the arrest of the four people.
The two prisoners were involved in a robbery in Navutu after their escape and then fled in a red four wheel drive vehicle.
Officers from Lautoka and Nadi then gave chase and also alerted the villagers in Bukuya to set up checkpoints as the four were heading up the Nausori highlands in the stolen vehicle.
