A prisoner who escaped from Nasinu Prison earlier this month surrendered himself to the police yesterday morning.

Police Spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri says Isimeli Batibalei escaped from Nasinu Prison on July 12th, surrendered himself to police around 11am yesterday morning.

Meanwhile, Sokomuri adds police are still looking for the other four prisoners who escaped from the Natabua and Suva remand centre on Sunday and Monday morning.

Paula Namua, Dwyane Hicks, Sitiveni Uluinavunai and Tomasi Cama escaped from Natabua Prison on Sunday afternoon while another remand prisoner, Jone Bi escaped from the remand center in Suva.

He has urged members of the public to call police on 919 or 917 if they have any information on the whereabouts of these prisoners, and stressed that harboring a prisoner is an offence.
