Enumerators from the National Agriculture Census are visiting farms around the country in a bid to collect farm information for a database to be drawn up to see where the agriculture sector stands and where it can be improved.

The Principal Agriculture Officer Central, Uraia Waibuta said that 60 enumerators are covering Lomaivuna, Vunidawa and the Naqali Tikinas.

Western enumerators are in Nadroga and Navosa while the eastern ones are in Kadavu.

He said farmers should be rest assured that all the information given to the enumerators will be confidential.

Waibuta said these enumerators will be asking questions about the use of land, employment, environmental variables of individual farmers and other issues.

He said this exercise will help the agriculture industry as a whole. The collection of information from the various divisions around the country is expected to take two months.
