Police have reiterated their call for parents to ensure the safety of their children.

This comes after a five-year-old boy was rushed to the Lautoka Hospital after he was bumped by a private car yesterday evening.

Director Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra said the incident happened at Natabua Queens Road yesterday after 6 o’clock when the five-year-old boy crossed the road straight after getting off the bus.

He was hit by a private car.

SSP Mishra said the boy is now admitted at the Lautoka Hospital while police have interviewed and released the driver as investigation continues.

He has urged parents to look after their children while getting off the bus.
