Another day, another drama.

That must be how Steve McNamara feels as his England side prepares for Sunday’s World Cup match with the Vodafone Fiji Bati against a contentious backdrop of player withdrawals.

McNamara refused to be drawn once again on questions regarding Zak Hardaker, who pulled out of the England squad this week due to ‘personal issues’.

Suggestions of another breach of discipline are rife, given the expulsion of Gareth Hock from the squad following his involvement in a drinking session after the warm-up defeat by Italy.

McNamara said for England, the discipline issues have cast a shadow over two encouraging World Cup displays.

England meets the Vodafone Fiji Bati on Sunday at 3.30am.

Meanwhile, Tonga beat Cook Islands 22-16 this morning.
