England centre Jonathan Joseph said he is ready to go up against Vereniki Goneva who he rates as one of the players to watch in their Rugby World Cup opener.

The Bath star will earn his 13th cap, partnering with Brad Barritt in the centre as head coach Stuart Lancaster keeps faith with the team that beat Ireland in their final warm‑up game.

While Flying Fijians coach John McKee is yet to announce his starting lineup, Fijivillage understands that Vereniki Goneva and Gabby Lovobalavu are highly likely to start in the midfield which can allow Waisea Nayacalevu and Nemani Nadolo to start on the wing.

Joseph said he is ready to make his country proud.

Joseph added that they are expecting the Fijians to be ruthless.

Fiji is expected to apply their natural talents of open rugby and McKee appears to have struck a nice balance in terms of implementing enough structure.

Joseph also highlighted that much is expected from the Akapusi Qera led side and as long as they can keep their discipline in check, they are more than capable of matching those expectations.

Fiji will take on England at 7am this Saturday.
