It is the end of an era for him at Courts Homecentres Fiji but outgoing managing director James Datta said it is definitely not the end of the road for him.

Datta who relinquished his position as Courts managing director a few days ago said marketing and being part of the retail industry is in his blood and he has learnt and delivered a lot over the last 37 years.

Datta, who is affectionately known as "Tatalevu" to many, commenced his employment with the Burns Philip Group in 1972, and said he was given the opportunity to work with the Australians for 26 years.

He then worked with the new owners from Britain for eight years.

James Datta said he learnt a lot about corporate governance, accountability, transparency and leadership, during those 34 years.
