Employment problems will be a thing of the past for the people of Naluwai in Naitasiri after the launch of the Bird Farming project yesterday.

The initiative of the project is for the men and women to raise 250 chickens for the next 18 weeks before they lay eggs and sell them for business.

Project Chairman Tarusila Waqa said this is one way to try and earn money from the village project and not to rely on others.

It is expected that total revenue of $23,000 will be raked in from this business if it is managed well.

Waqa said the project was funded through a partnership with the National Planning and Pacific Feeds Limited and Vanua of Rara.
