For All Blacks captain Richie McCaw, star first five-eighth Dan Carter and No.8 Kieran Read, today’s World Cup parade in Christchurch will be a very emotional moment.

The trio call the quake-ravaged city home and can’t wait to return with the Webb Ellis trophy.

The entire All Blacks squad will take part and McCaw and coach Graham Henry will speak to the crowd in the fan zone in Hagley Park at 3.30pm.

McCaw, Dan Carter and Kieran Read all spoke of the special relevance of today’s visit to their home city still recovering from the earthquake tragedy.

Carter said the support throughout the tournament had been overwhelming but taking the cup home today would be appropriate after Christchurch had missed out on hosting games.
