It was an emotional day for 47-year-old pacific games gold medalist Mereseini Roden as she was hosted with a morning tea by the Fiji National Council and Disable Person with the Spinal Injury Association this morning.

Roden who won gold in the Para Table Tennis Women’s single event was also with Iakoba Tabera-nibou who also won gold in the men’s single seated class.

Rodan says her experience in the Pacific Games was fun and it was a learning experience for her since it was her first participation in the game.

She says they may be disabled physically but they can still live a normal life and take part in activities within our communities.

She urged people with disabilities to step out of their comfort zones and participate in sports.

She adds their achievement has proven to all that although they are differently able people and they can contribute to the community in many different ways.
