The Fiji Police Force will soon meet with stakeholders and government departments to decide on ways in which traffic congestion can be controlled during times of emergency.

This comes after some people were stuck in traffic jams for more than three hours while trying to get back to their homes following the Tsunami warning yesterday.

Deputy Director Police Operations SP Erami Raibe said they will form a committee to decide on how, through the closure of roads, they can prevent people from coming into the city unnecessarily and at the same time only allow traffic out of the city.
