It's all still very new to him, but Tamati Ellison is relishing his time with the Highlanders.

The one test All Black returned from 2 years in Japan, just 48 hours before starting in the Highlanders first up Super Rugby win over the Chiefs, where he turned in a man of the match performance.

Since then he's had a look at Dunedin's new indoor stadium, has had another couple of training runs, now knows most of his team mates names and is getting familiar with the calls.

The former Hurricane midfield back said he learnt a lot about himself while he was away and realized he still had something to offer to New Zealand rugby.

Ellison is expected to start again against the Crusaders in Dunedin tomorrow night at 6.35pm.

Meanwhile, at 6.35 tonight, Blues will play Chiefs and at 8.40pm Rebels will take on Waratahs.
