Electrical faults are the common causes for fires during the Festive Season and the National Fire Authority is requesting that extra precaution be taken.
Chief Fire Officer, Mark Reid said that a common trend noted over the past is that people tend to overload one power point with alot of extensions and advises people to exercise caution.
Earlier this week on a family of three lost everything in a fire in Tavarua, Ba on Tuesday.
Initial investigations show that the fire may have started due to an electrical fault which started from one of the bedroom.
Meanwhile, Reid who will handing in the reins for the Authority said that he would like to leave the country on a good note adds that if we are careful this Christmas, he will be leaving Fiji a happy man.
