Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Saiyad-Khaiyum said a South Korean company's plan to manufacture electric cars in Fiji could reduce the country's reliance on fuel and the investment could also bring in export dollars for Fiji.

The company is looking for investors for a new assembly plant for electric cars in Fiji, to be exported to overseas markets.

Speaking to ABC Pacific Beat, Khaiyum who visited the company in his recent visit to South Korea said Fiji has very competitive labour rates in comparison to Australia and New Zealand.
