The Electoral Commission has confirmed that they had recommended in their presentation to the National Council for Building a Better Fiji, that the current Electoral Act is undemocratic.
Commission Chairman, M.R. Khan highlighted a few reasons saying that due to the alternative voting system the National Federation Party failed to win any seats in parliament in the last three general elections.
He said there were also a large number of invalid votes as voters were confused about the voting system.
Khan added that they can only recommend changes in the system however the interim government has the final say.
