The Electoral Commission has stressed that it is still independent and their presentation to the National Council for Building a Better Fiji meeting on Tuesday was part of their awareness program.
Commission Chairman M.R. Khan said under the 1997 Constitution they have raised awareness and maintains that they have done nothing wrong by giving their views.
He added that the former Leader of Opposition, Mick Beddoes, should explain how the Electoral Commission is not independent.
