The Fijian Elections Office says they did not administer the Fiji Trades Union Congress Elections that was held yesterday.

Supervisor of Elections Mohamad Saneem said they have been made aware that the FTUC had their elections yesterday in Nadi, however they will be formally writing to the Ministry of Labour to confirm the registration details of the FTUC to establish if the FTUC is a registered trade union.

Saneem said if the Fiji Trades Union Congress is a registered trade union, then the FTUC Elections is required to be administered by the Fijian Elections Office.

He said they will have to review the Fiji Trades Union Congress Elections.

Felix Anthony who resigned from the position as the General Secretary of the FTUC to contest the 2014 General Elections has been re‑elected to his old position.

Acting General Secretary, Rajeshwar Singh was also vying for the post.

Anthony had earlier said that the union will always remain in his blood.

When questioned after the elections, he was confident that he will retain his position.

Daniel Urai who was elected unopposed remains as President of the FTUC, while the three vice presidents are Kolo-kesa Kini, Apisai Baka-baka and Vidya Singh.

The assistant general secretary went to Rohit Singh and the Treasurer was Agni Deo Singh.
