Fiji has won 3 gold medals and broken 2 records at the Oceania Power Lifting Championship in Sydney last night.

16-year-old Isaiah Elder broke two sub junior Oceania records on his way to winning gold for Fiji.
 
The Marist Brothers High School fourth former set a new record in the squat lift with 222.5kg scrapping the old record of 217.5kg. 

He also set a new record in the dead lift with 237.5kg as the old record stood at 235kg.

Speaking from Sydney Isaiah said he was sure that he will do something special.


Elder is the son of former flying Fijians trainer Henry Elder.

Meanwhile, Fiji’s other 2 gold came from Sainimili Turner in the women’s master two category while Saint Vincent college student Ana Garnett won gold in the girls sub junior division.
