Efforts are now being made to train nurses who will help in detecting rheumatic heart diseases among school children in Fiji.

CWM Hospital Pediatrician Doctor Joseph Kado said during their screening visits to the schools, the experienced doctors and nurses go out but now younger nurses will be taught so that they can assist the doctors during the visits.

He added that these trained nurses will be assisting the doctors by going out to the schools to carry out the screening process.
