Senior Education Officers are part of Government’s contingent that left yesterday for the Lau Group to hold talks with teachers to find out how their families were affected by the cyclone.
Permanent Secretary for Education Filipe Jitoko said the Ministry fully understands the trauma that our teachers in the Lau Group have gone through as this is not an easy time for them.
The Ministry's priority now is for students to begin their classes and for that, they need their basic school items.
Ministry officials will supply schools with temporary shelters, tarpaulins, water containers, textbooks and stationery. Stationery supplies include exercise books, pens, pencils, rulers and erasers.
