Education Office await school lists
Senior Education Officer Suva Peter Cavakilagi is asking school heads to take time during their long weekend to deliver the school roll of their students who travel to school by bus, either today, tomorrow or first thing Monday morning to the Primary Headquarters Quality House.
Cavakilagi said since the request was aired yesterday afternoon, not many schools heads and their lists are visiting their office today.
He said those who are just hearing about the school roll requirement must make an effort to deliver by Tuesday morning adding those who have given their school rolls are to pick up their cheques on Tuesday morning from the Suva Education Office.
This is part of the Free Bus Fare program preparations.
From next Wednesday, any student travelling in the school buses from next Wednesday will not pay bus fare while students travelling in normal buses in uniform other than the school buses will pay half of the normal fare.
The half fare will only apply in the areas where no school buses are running.
