The Ministry of Education is proposing to ask Cabinet to impose a curfew on the last day of every Coca Cola Games.

Minister Filipe Bole said they may have to ask permission from Cabinet to impose curfew in Suva to restrict students from entering the city.

His comments come after police stated that about 6000 students poured into the Capital city on Saturday night.

He said during this public emergency regulation period, curfews can be easily imposed as a control mechanism.

He said the suggestion is harsh however strict measures need to be taken or children will think that such incident does not matter anymore.

He said according to police, most of the students who were in Suva on Saturday night were mainly from the rural and island schools and they had to call for extra manpower.

Meanwhile, two secondary school students were caught in a nightclub in Lautoka yesterday as part of Operation “School Holiday”.

The two students were warned and dropped off at their home while the bar owners and bouncers were also warned.
