A team of Education Ministry officials will leave for some outer islands to see that all the teachers are registered under the Teacher Registration Board.

Less than 200 teachers are yet to get registered as the time period set by the Education Ministry for the registration ended this Monday.

Education Minister Filipe Bole said that they have altogether received 9,340 applications so far and now they will have to sort out the applications to finalize everything.

Bole said teachers who are not registered can lose their jobs when school starts for third term next Monday.

However, he said teachers in the outer islands have been excused.

Meanwhile, Bole has confirmed that a team from the Education Ministry will travel to some islands this Sunday to see that all the teachers are registered.

The team returns on the 23rd of this month.
