The Education Ministry is monitoring water cuts in the Suva-Nausori corridor.

The Interim Education Officer Filipe Bole said 15 schools in the Nasinu and Suva areas are badly affected by water cuts today.

He said schools are to use other resources such as water tanks during these problems however school heads have been called on to monitor the situation closely and decide whether students need to stay on or be sent home.

He is also calling on school heads to notify the Ministry if they decide to send the children home.

Meanwhile, the PRO of the Water Supply Department, Maika Nagalu said those areas currently not getting water will start receiving water from this evening.

He said some of their engineers are trying to re-direct water supply from the Tamavua system to the greater Suva areas that have no water supply, while other engineers are working on the burst main at the Laqere Bridge.
