Education Minister urges students to revise during term break
This is the message from Education Minister Filipe Bole to students during this 2 weeks school holiday saying that given the hype of activities that occupy the Term 2 break, students while enjoying their break must also allocate time for revision.
Bole said when school begins on 6th September, Form 4's will only have 40 school days before the Fiji Junior Certificate Examination is conducted, while Form 7 students will only have 43 school days before the Fiji Seventh Form Examination, and Form 6 students with 48 days before Fiji School Leaving Certificate.
The FJC is scheduled for November 2nd to 11th, FSFE from November 8th to 19th while the FSLC from November 16th to 29th.
Bole said for those students in exam classes, time is very short and last minute preparations are strongly discouraged, adding therefore it is important that revision work is carried out during the holidays so that one can easily fit into the final Term without any holiday hangover.
He added for Forms 3 and 5 students, projects need to be completed before one returns to school.
Bole has also reiterated his call for parents to monitor their children's holiday program and ensure that time is allocated for revision.
Bole has also reminded teachers especially those serving in the islands, to make arrangements for their return trip as no one should be absent in school on day one.
