A head-teacher of a school in sourthen Lau believes there is an urgent need to not only teach children but their parents as well about drug abuse and its effects.
Walis Tabaki of Komo Village School said many students in the southern part of Lau do not even know much about drugs.
Tabaki's comments come as the Education Ministry while commemorating International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking launched its campaign against drugs at the Advanced College in Nasinu this morning.
23 head-teachers and principals from the Lau group as well as police officers, Tobacco Control Unit officers, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education officials are taking part in the two day workshop which has a theme of “Drug Free Fiji - Marijuana Kills, Don’t Till”.
