Eat Paul, Germans demand
“Hope you end up in a sushi bar.”
Those are just some of the comments on the facebook account of the octopus who has predicted all of Germany's World Cup Soccer games correctly including this morning when his prediction came true and Germany lost to Spain 1-0 in the semifinal.
One thing that has made headlines and is different in this FIFA World Cup is Paul's predictions.
There is a lot of fascination and also suspicion that the Paul the Octopus fever finally got to the German soccer team and it was all a mind game.
But angry German soccer fans now want to eat the octopus which was born in England and now stays in an aquarium in Germany.
On his facebook account a person writing for Paul said “ha ha ha I predicted it right and now I want the final mussel even if Germany's dream is over.”
This report from the Sydney Morning Herald.
The octopus has predicted all of Germany's World Cup games, and after 6 straight correct results he is getting a lot of attention in the media.
Basically he is eating a mussel out of one of the two boxes, where one has the German flag, and the other the opponent’s flag.
The winner should be the box where he eats the mussel from.
Meanwhile, Spain's 1-nil win over Germany this morning saw them secure a FIFA World Cup final berth against Netherlands next Monday at 6.30am.
