The 2011 Fiji Bitter Easter Basketball Championship kicked off at the Vodafone Arena last night with defending champions in both the Mens and Womens divisions making impressive starts.
Defending Men’s champions, Saints from Suva thrashed Macpacers 65-27.
National men’s basketball captain, Leonard Whippy is leading the Saints team in the six day competition.
In the women’s division, defending champions, Wednesday Crew led by national team captain, Seini Dobui beat Chosen 34-26.
In other men’s division matches last night, Dragons beat Police 47-44, Warriors beat New Era 57-28, Boston beat Noobies 36-22 and Baseliners went down to Idaman 43-10.
In the women’s division, Police beat USP 29-14 while Sparks beat Golden Bati 37-15.
The competition continues today at the Vodafone Arena.
