The support was good and it shows that people care about their environment.
WWF's Events Coordinator Kim Beddoes said Earth Hour last night was a success adding that a lot of people switched off for an hour all over Fiji. She adds they will know how much energy was saved after they receive a report from the Fiji Electricity Authority tomorrow.
Beddoes said it was encouraging to see business houses taking up the initiative to save energy.
The UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon had said that Earth Hour is a way for the citizen’s of the world to send a clear message that they want action on climate change.
Twenty four hundred cities in 82 countries had shown their commitment to this year's event.
